THE EFFECT OF MULTICULTURAL APPROACH ON READING AND WRITING FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENT

چکیده
This study aimed at investigating the effect of multicultural approach on reading comprehension and writing skills grade V elementary school students in South Borneo. is a quasi experimental research with nonequivalent-groups pretest postest design. The participants class was student VB MI Al-hamid Banjarmasin (n=38) control VA Al-Hamid (n=36). Using narrative test scores students, questionnaire, teaching assignment. reveals that affects achievement also becomes best predictor their experience cultural knowledge, such as develops multiple perspectives, counsciousness, increases intercultural competence, combats racism, sexiesm, prejudice, discrimination, social action skills. Furthermore, has significant better than conventional students’ skills, are convensional teaching. As conclusion, can be considered method improving from producing main idea topik sentence, non fiction text based awareness, action. findings imply teachers need to change model into identify material encourage do bring up activities related tolerance.
